The air ambulance mission requires a highly disciplined flight crew with diverse skills and abilities to assure the safe completion of each dispatch. Pilots, in particular, need a very high degree of competency in IFR and inadvertent IFR procedures, as well as, the ability to land at unimproved sites, often at night, and usually in the hostile wire environment. Add to this the urgency of the ever present trauma situation and the need for pilots with a high degree of maturity; extensive low-level operations experience and sound aeronautical decision making skills under pressure becomes apparent.

Our Medical group has
years of hands on experience from both the aviation and program management
prospective. This expertise combined with a sound evaluation on maintenance
and management of the operations combine to give a complete safety analysis
of an airborne EMS operation. We pay particular attention to the pilot
qualifications, pre-hiring qualifications and procedures, and the initial
and re-current training associated with this mission.
